About Courtney Monk
Courtney Monk is a talented conductor, performer, composer, and recording artist based in Oklahoma City. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University with a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education. In 2024, she was honored with the Teacher of the Year award by JPerez Music Publishing. Courtney currently conducts Sinfonia with the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras. She also serves as the Sanctuary Worship Assistant at Crossings Community Church. In addition, she performs with the Enid Symphony, Sempre Strings, and other local music ensembles. Courtney is also an active private instructor with her studio, Studio Brio, and teaches Kindermusik with Musical Me in OKC. She was part of the international team that revised and rewrote the Musicians curriculum for Kindermusik. In addition to her many accomplishments, Courtney is also the co-founder of Scissortail Music, an organization dedicated to providing solo & ensemble adjudication and honor group ensembles for students of all ages. Courtney’s passion for music and dedication to teaching have made her a respected figure in the local music community.
